Boxtops for Education is one of the simplest and most powerful fundraising tools at our fingertips. This year-round fundraising effort can be utilized by everyone in your family. Keep reading to find out how you and your family, friends, and neighbors can help.
Watch this short video to find out why we should participate in the Boxtops for Education program.
Now that you see how positive and productive this program can be, keep reading to see how we can all help with this effort.
First, simply print out a collection form. There are various forms to match the seasons, and they can be decorated and colored by children. As you clip your boxtops from products, just attach the boxtops to the form in the spaces provided. Each boxtops collection form holds 10 boxtops, and each boxtop is usually worth 10 cents, which means each form gets us one dollar toward the PTA's ongoing efforts and activities in our school. When the forms are completed, have you child bring them to school and give them to their teacher. If you're not sure which products are part of the program, here is a printable list of participating products. By the way, this is what Boxtops look like:
Sometimes we'll have contests. For example, we recently had a school-wide contest in which the class that collected the most boxtops in one week got a free pizza party provided by Mustang Pizza & Subs. So be on the lookout for the next contest.
Now that we've got the hang of it, let's see how we can expand on our collection efforts. Let's start by considering the Power of 10. This concept is used by the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to encourage race participants to raise extra money to support their cause. It works like this, you ask 10 people -- friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. -- to each collect 10 boxtops and turn them in to you. You can give them a sheet to complete, or you and your child(ren) can complete the sheet for them, decorating it as you like. Once your 10 helpers have turned in their boxtops to you, you have now collected an additional $10 for the PTA. It only takes 100 families to collect this extra $10 worth of boxtops for the PTA to collect $1000 extra. Ahhhh, the Power of 10!
So, let's get out there and start collecting today. It's powerful, easy, and fun for the whole family. You could even make a contest of your own in your home, encouraging family members to see who can collect the most to win some sort of prize.
Additionally, you can help the PTA to raise money by shopping at your favorite stores through the boxtops website portal. You can shop stores like Target and JCPenney, and the PTA will get a bonus for each purchase you make through the boxtops website. So, since you're shopping anyway, we'd appreciate it if you help us out a little in the process. Just go the http://www.boxtops4education.com/ and sign up. It's easy, and it's free, and when you get there, you'll find out that there's plenty more to see!
Thanks!!!
